Patient Demography
Female aged 48
Diagnosis:
Flow cytometry findings of the bone marrow are suggestive of Acute Monoblastic Leukemia (AML).
Microscopic Review:
Blast 38%, Neutrophil 5%, Lymphocytes 12%, Monocytes (abnormal monocytes + promonocytes) 45%, 2 nRBC/100 WBC seen.
Other Information:
Generalized weakness, loss of appetite, low grade fever, weight loss.

On the DIFF scattergram, we observe the presence of immature monocytic population. The population is essentially composed of all step of monocytes maturation between the monoblasts, promonocytes and monocytes. The monocytoid population is perfectly defined in the DIFF scattergram in the dedicated area. Severe neutropenia can also be seen.
